How I Was Kicked Off a Stage Years Ago - Dr. Joybert Javnyuy
I once got kicked off a stage, years after, I have spoken across different nations globally.
There was a time I spoke at an event in the early days of my career that I messed up. Sentences were not coming.
The host politely pulled me off stage. It was humiliating to me and I walked home wondering and almost in tears.
People have seen me on stage may will definitely be surprised.
Now, I have spoken in 20+ countries, coached top leaders and keynoted global summits.
While recently remembering that event and pondering, I actually got some lessons from that experience.
a) In destiny, rejection is redirection:
That moment wasn't the end, although at the time I taught it was the end of me ever speaking again. It was just the beginning. I wasn't ready by then. I am happy I paid the price to be ready. Many times, when you face rejection, it is redirection to build capacity or take a new path in life.
b) You don't rise to the occasion, you fall to your preparation:
When I learned this, it changed everything. Since that day, I have trained like a soldier preparing for war. I have studied speaking styles, voice, posture, storytelling and more, I have studied it all.

c) Embarrassment is a poor excuse to stop:
Many quit after failure. When many people go through a season of embarrassment, they quit. That is not the right way to fix the situation. What I did was, I just trained harder. In this life, I have learned that your next "yes" may be hiding behind your last "no." Don't stop yet!
d) Audiences remember impact, not perfection:
Today, I don't try to impress, when I hold the mic to deliver a session, my aim is to transform. Because impact is always greater that eloquence and great articulation.
Are these important? Yes. However, even if you are not perfect at those, keep showing up and keep impacting. You are not here to impress, you are here to impact.
What I am saying is, that stage did not end me and my speaking career. It ignited me to rise up and train.
